Turbine and Equinox, supporting every phase of modern flight training.
At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, Elixir Aircraft today unveiled a complete family of training aircraft designed to support every stage of pilot training from first flight through advanced IFR instruction while reducing operating costs, improving safety, and preparing flight schools for the future.
Built around the FAA Part 23 and EASA CS-23 certified Elixir platform, the French aircraft manufacturer now offers with Elixir+ familly a comprehensive portfolio consisting of the Essential, Expert, and Elite configurations, as well as the Elixir Turbine, and Equinox program, a new higher-capacity aircraft currently under development.
The expanded lineup marks an important milestone in Elixir Aircraft’s international growth strategy following its recent US$50 million funding round, positioning the company to serve the evolving needs of flight training organizations throughout Europe, North America, and beyond.
Elixir+ Familly: The Cornerstone of the Elixir range
Following the Initial configuration, the Elixir+ familly will be the cornerstone of the company’s product lineup. Certified under both EASA CS-23 and FAA Part 23, it introduced a fourth generation of training aircraft and has become a preferred platform for flight schools across Europe.
Built using Elixir’s Carbon OneShot technology, a one-piece carbon composite airframe inspired by offshore racing boats, the aircraft consists of only nine airframe parts, dramatically simplifying maintenance while delivering operating costs of approximately US$50 per flight hour.
Safety remains central to the aircraft’s design, with every Elixir+ equipped as standard with:
- Whole-aircraft ballistic parachute
- Anti-spin protection system
- Crash-resistant fuel tank
- Fatigue-resistant carbon composite structure
The aircraft also supports more sustainable pilot training by reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 70 percent compared with previous-generation trainers.
Today, more than 60 Elixir aircraft are in service with flight schools across Europe.
The Elixir+ Family: One Platform, Three Configurations
Elixir+ Essential: Increased Payload and Extended Wingspan
Originally introduced at AERO Friedrichshafen 2026, the Elixir+ Essential expands the capabilities of the original aircraft while maintaining its renowned handling qualities, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
Enhancements include:
- Increased 700 kg maximum takeoff weight
- Higher useful payload
- New fuel pump system
- Optimized nose landing gear
- Extended wingspan
- New winglets
- Redesigned leading edges
- Vortex generators for improved aerodynamic efficiency
These refinements improve performance throughout the flight envelope while maintaining the simplicity operators expect from the Elixir platform.
Elixir+ Expert: The IFR Solution
The Elixir+ Expert combines the enhanced Elixir+ platform with the all-new Garmin AXIS Flight Displays avionics suite, certified for IFR operations.
Designed specifically for professional flight schools, the Expert enables operators to deliver instrument rating training on a modern, easy-to-operate, and highly cost-effective aircraft.
Elixir+ Elite: IFR Turbo Performance
The Elixir+ Elite represents the highest-performance aircraft in the Elixir+ family. Pairing Garmin AXIS Flight Displays IFR avionics with the 141-horsepower turbocharged Rotax 915iS engine, the Elite provides greater climb performance (1400-2000 ft/min) for high altitude and hot weather, higher cruise capability (158 kts – 85% power) for student high work load training, and expanded operational flexibility while retaining all the safety, efficiency, and low operating costs of the Elixir platform.

Equinox: Preparing the Next Generation
The Equinox program represents the next step in Elixir Aircraft’s long-term product strategy. Larger than today’s Elixir platform and featuring Carbon OneShot airframe, this aircraft is being developed to complement the company’s existing lineup while meeting the future requirements of professional flight training organizations. Founded in 2015, Elixir Aircraft is a French aircraft manufacturer created to address the challenges facing the global light aviation industry. Headquartered in La Rochelle, France, with operations in Sarasota, Florida, the company employs 240 people.
Elixir Aircraft designs and manufactures a fourth-generation, two-seat aircraft certified under EASA CS-23 since 2020 and FAA Part 23 since 2025. In June 2023, the President of the French Republic announced a €13 million grant for Elixir Aircraft. In June 2025, the company was selected by ENAC (the French National School of Civil Aviation) to renew its VFR training fleet. In April 2026, Elixir Aircraft introduced the Elixir+, an enhanced version of its aircraft featuring increased payload capacity. In July 2026, the company secured a €45 million funding round to launch the Equinox program, paving the way for a new aircraft.
